A preview of GM's new electric car - the Chevy Volt
 The future looks electrifying with the fully charged Chevy Volt which is set for launch in 2010. The Chevrolet Volt will be a small four-door four-passenger sedan with a turbocharged, 1.0-liter three-cylinder engine that will produce 71 horsepower.
Unlike other traditional electric cars, the 2010 Chevrolet Volt will be an extended-range electric vehicle with a revolutionary propulsion system. More than 200 engineers and 50 designers are working on the Volt. Chevrolet Volt will be engineered to carry more than 75 per cent of america's commuters without using a single drop of fuel. This means those whodrive less than 40 miles daily will not use any gasoline and there will be zero emission.
The Chevrolet Volt will make use of a lithium-ion battery with various range-extending onboard power sources that include gasoline and E85 ethanol (in some vehicles) to recharge the battery for above 40-mile limit. The engine will start and stop automatically to charge the battery

The 2009 Silverado Hybrid is coming…
