Chevy Targets Five Cities in Hopes of Becoming Global Powerhouse

Chevrolet has already proven they have the tenacity to pick themselves up after they've fallen down. But, an underdog success story isn't all the American automaker is after. The overachieving company would like to become one of the foremost global players in the auto market.

Will they do it? According to Joel Ewanick, VP and Global Chief Marketing Officer, GM, they will if they gain the upper hand in Frankfurt, Germany; Guangzhou, China, Los Angeles, California; Rio de Janeiro, Brazil; and San Francisco, California. And, once they succeed, parent company GM will be closer to saying check mate to their competitors than they've been in years. See, Chevy models represent more than 60 percent of GM's total sales.

Chevrolet's success in becoming a global powerhouse will not just benefit GM, either; but consumers in the different markets they serve. See, Chevy doesn't just engineer reliable cars with award-winning fuel economy and stellar safety ratings. They demonstrate a sincere commitment to enhancing communities across the globe (i.e., collaborating with Sting to help give indestructible soccer balls to kids in less fortunate communities). That, in our opinion, is the American brand's ticket to achieving greater success worldwide.
