The 2009 Chevrolet Silverado 2500HD is a full-size heavy-duty pick-up truck SUV that offers 27 cab/box/drive/rear-wheel combinations. The 2009 Chevrolet Silverado 2500HD is available in Regular Cab, Extended Cab, and Crew Cab body styles with short or long bed lengths and three trims levels - Work Truck, LT, and LTZ.

Powertrains and Performance

Two powertrains available on the 2009 Chevrolet Silverado 2500HD are: a standard 360-horsepower Vortec 6.0-liter V8 engine coupled to a Hydra-Matric six-speed automatic transmission (HD) and an optional 365-horsepower Duramax Diesel 6.6-liter V8 Turbo-Diesel engine mated to an Allison 1000 Series six-speed automatic transmission. All 2009 Chevy Silverado 2500HD models are offered in two-wheel and four-wheel drive systems.

Body and Styling

The 2009 Chevrolet Silverado 2500HD WT and LT versions comes with various amenities such as 16-inch steel wheels; driver information center; two auxiliary power outlets; dual glove boxes; full-width rear bench (for Extended Cab and Crew Cab versions); 40/20/40 split-bench front seat; XM Radio with three trial months; and AM/FM stereo with MP3-compatible CD player.

The upscale LTZ model adds integrated Bluetooth wireless technology; 17-inch machined-aluminum wheels; dual-zone automatic temperature controls; 10-way power-adjustable front seats with driver-seat memory; leather-wrapped steering wheel with steering wheel-mounted audio controls; 60/40 split-bench rear seat; outside, body-color, power-adjustable, power-folding heated mirrors with turn-signal indicators; and reclining, heated, custom leather-appointed front bucket seats. The GM-exclusive automatic locking rear differential is optional on the LTZ and offers additional traction. The 2009 Chevy Silverado 2500HD offers 75.5 cubic feet of cargo volume in its cabin.
